Yorkshire care provider, Springfield Healthcare, has acquired Moorcare, a homecare service operated by Leeds Jewish Welfare Board (LJWB), bringing more than 60 additional clients and 27 employees into its growing business.<\/p>\n
The transfer will extend Springfield Healthcare’s community care operations into North Leeds, strengthening its geographical footprint and providing a platform for further expansion across the area.<\/p>\n
Under the agreement, 27 Moorcare staff will transfer to Springfield Healthcare under TUPE regulations, while more than 60 clients will continue to receive support from a familiar team of carers.<\/p>\n
Moorcare currently delivers more than 500 hours of community care each week across North Leeds. The acquisition will see the service integrated into Springfield Healthcare’s existing Leeds operations, with the transferred employees joining the wider organisation.<\/p>\n
The move represents a further step in the growth of Springfield Healthcare\u2019s home care arm, which operates eight regional branches across the North of England and additionally includes both live in and complex care services.<\/p>\n
The group employs over 900 community carers and delivers a homecare business with an annual turnover of \u00a323m.<\/p>\n
While the acquisition will not create immediate additional jobs, it is expected to provide opportunities for Springfield Healthcare to expand its services further into North Leeds, creating employment opportunities as the business grows.<\/p>\n
Theresa Bradley-Comstive, chief operating officer at Springfield Healthcare, said: “The acquisition of Moorcare is an important step in the continued development of our Leeds operations, allowing us to extend our reach into North Leeds and build on the strong foundations already established by the team.<\/p>\n
“Moorcare has a long-standing reputation for delivering compassionate, high-quality care within its local community, and we recognise the importance of preserving that trust.<\/p>\n
“Our priority is to ensure a smooth transition for both clients and employees, retaining the relationships that are so important to delivering person-centred care.<\/p>\n
“Bringing the Moorcare team into Springfield will also give us an opportunity to build on our existing presence in Leeds and explore further growth across North Leeds, creating opportunities for the business and the local workforce in the future.”<\/p>\n
The transfer follows a strategic review by Leeds Jewish Welfare Board, which concluded Springfield Healthcare offered the strongest long-term future for the service, its clients and employees.<\/p>\n
