Gaist Solutions – Mission Accomplished

Gaist Solutions Managing Director Steve Birdsall returns to the UK today after completing a Connected Cities Trade Mission across India comprising of a delegation of more than 20 of the UK’s most innovative companies.
Â
Infrastructure Asset Information providers, Gaist Solutions Limited who have offices in Lancaster and Skipton have seen a huge amount of interest in their technology and services from Indian authorities and businesses.
Â
Speaking from India Steve Birdsall says, “The trade mission was hugely successful, we are already tendering for work in the city of Pune and are currently drafting Memoranda of Understanding with several potential partners which will mean we can gain access to markets across the whole of India and the Middle East.
Â
“Today we are delighted to be signing a deal for a 50% share of Optimint Solutions, based in Gurugram (formerly known as Gurgaon), on the outskirts of New Delhi. This will ensure we have a solid base from which to grow our international business across Asia. With the scale of development and investment into infrastructure and new smart cities, India represents a huge opportunity for high-tech UK companies. These kind of companies need to ask themselves, not if they can afford to enter the Indian markets, but instead, can they afford not to.”
Â
Optimint’s Managing Director, Deepak Dalal announced today that Optimint intend to trade across India under the Gaist brand saying: “Gaist and Optimint have shared a great partnership for over two years now and this deal will strengthen our bonds and allow us to exploit the excellent technology and services we have built together. We are already growing our staff base from 50 to 120 by January 2017 on the back of this deal. We are delighted that the challenge set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister Theresa May, to build strong Anglo-Indian trade, is starting here today.”
Â
The Connected Cities Mission was a joint initiative between Innovate UK, the Department for International Trade, Enterprise Europe Network and Future Cities Catapult, and formed part of a series of UK-India missions organised by DIT to tie in with the India-UK Tech Summit in Delhi last week.
Â
Innovate UK’s mission lead Niraj Saraf said: “Congratulations to Gaist Solutions, this is a great early-win from the Connected Cities trade mission and highlights the real opportunities that are open to UK businesses from India’s smart cities market.”
