Harrogate-based interior designer launches artwork collection at international trade show

Entrepreneurial interior designer Richard Grafton, which has showrooms in Harrogate and Ilkley, is diversifying with the launch of a carefully collated selection of hand-framed artwork in London at one of the industry’s leading exhibitions.

Part of the ‘Richard Grafton Interiors’ Edited Collection’, the artwork will be showcased at Decorex International which is taking place at Olympia from 6th to 9th October. As well as being available for trade buyers at the show to supply in their own interiors businesses, Richard Grafton customers will also be able to view more than 30 pieces on display at its Yorkshire showrooms.

Comprising around 150 pieces of bespoke framed artwork from contemporary to more classic options, the prints have been selected by the business’ design team to fill a gap in the market for artwork that complements room design schemes.

“To be honest, when we tried to source artwork for our showrooms, we were very uninspired by what was out there and, therefore, we decided to put together our own collection,” explains Richard Grafton. “We’ve been trialling the pieces in our showrooms and they have been so well received that we have seized the opportunity to take the collection to a wider audience by making them available to wholesale customers too.

“The artwork is very much interior designer led, chosen by our experienced team with bespoke and hand finished mounts and frames. We’re expecting it not only to attract a lot of interest from the retail interior design market, but also from any businesses which needs to put art on the walls, from interior design specifiers, hotels, restaurants and bars to architects, visual merchandisers and property developers.”

Richard continues: “Since launching Richard Grafton Interiors eight years ago in Harrogate, we have established ourselves are a leading name in Yorkshire and beyond, opening a second  showroom in Ilkley in 2016. Our customers trust the brand, knowing that they we give design advice they can rely on and a great choice of individually selected lifestyle items for their home.

“The launch of ‘The Edited Collection’ trade offering is another important step in our development and launching it at one of the UK’s leading events for design professionals is a fantastic opportunity. We hope to welcome hundreds of buyers to our stand at the show where they will be able to see 25 of the hand framed prints for themselves, or view the entire art collection on an iPad.”

Retail prices for the prints start from £250.
