COMPANIES risk being exposed to bad publicity and reputational damage if they fail to avoid a hidden pitfall in looming legislation on staff pay, a leading Yorkshire law firm has warned.

The county's major employers have a duty to reveal average salary differences between male and female staff for the first time, under laws that come into force from April 6.
