Nottingham sportswear brand, PlayerLayer, has moved from West Bridgford and relocated to Accelerate Places in Nottingham city centre.

The company, founded in 2009, will bring 50 employees taking up desks in the collaborative workspace on Wollaton Street in the City.

PlayerLayer supplies branded sportswear for universities, schools and professional clubs. Customers include Nottingham Rugby Club, the British bobsleigh team, London Blitz American football team and some of Holland’s top hockey clubs. The company was recently chosen by sports industry giant, Under Armour, as the exclusive licence partner for the distribution of the American company’s team wear.

The company’s marketing director, Roderick Bradley, said: “We chose Accelerate Places because, as a young, creative and energetic company, we just knew it was ideal for us. It’s bright, modern and the collaborative spaces will work really well for our sociable team. The location is just perfect too with everything Nottingham has to offer right on our doorstep.”

Business manager at Accelerate Places, Lucy Moss, said: “We’re so pleased PlayerLayer has joined us in Nottingham. The team’s social and creative presence can be felt throughout the building – we feel they’re the perfect fit. Co-working is great because it takes all the uncertainty out of guessing what your overheads will be. For a fixed monthly fee, everything is taken care of – from Wi-fi to cleaning; from access to meeting rooms, to showers and bike storage. There’s even a beer and prosecco fridge!”

Bradley added: “The support we’ve had from Lucy and the team at Accelerate Places has been brilliant. After enduring several moves over the past few years due to the growth of the company, I know how difficult and stressful they can be. However, this move really has been a breath of fresh air. We just walked in and everything was there ready for us. There are lots of changes planned for the company over the next year and it’s going to be an exciting time. Being based here is going to make it even more fun.”

Laura Jardine, surveyor at commercial property agency Innes England, introduced the letting.

She said: “PlayerLayer is a growing company and after speaking to them, I found out they were looking for vibrant and flexible office space. Accelerate Places had the space available to accommodate their requirements so it seemed like the perfect fit. The office is bright and modern and right in the centre of Nottingham, giving employees access to hundreds of different businesses right on their doorstep.”
