Two Derby architects carrying the Montague name have merged.

Montague Architects was established in 1969 by Matthew’s father, and subsequently Jeff James, Paul McLocklin and Dave Swann have run the business.

After 45 years at Montague Architects James will be moving on to pursue other interests, as will Swann who has been with the practice 28 years whilst McLocklin will join Matthew and his team as a consultant.

James said: “I have had a fantastic career spanning 45 years with Montague Architects, I have been privileged to be involved with many inspirational developments across the Midlands over the years and I can’t think of a better way to take our business forward than by merging with Matthew and his team.”

Matthew Montague said: “I wish Jeff and David all the very best for the future and I am delighted to welcome Paul on board, he brings a wealth of experience. I know that my father would be delighted with this merger, and that his legacy will continue.”

He added: “We are looking forward to growing our current team and welcoming five new team members to our offices in Longford. The larger team will enable us to take on more projects. We will continue to focus on commercial, education, sports and residential projects.”
