New director at East Mids construction firm

Gelder Group has expanded its board of directors by appointing senior team member Louisa Sharpe to director of insurance repair and renovation.

Sharpe, who has more than 40 years of experience in the insurance industry, joined Gelder Group ten years ago as a claims coordinator and during that time has progressed through the business to become a director.

As part of her new role, Sharpe, who also heads up training and human resources within the group, will be taking on the challenge of employing 70 apprentices by 2020 across all sectors of the business as part of the company’s Vision 2020.

She said: “Having been a member of the Gelder Group team for a decade now I’ve had the opportunity to see both my career, and the company as a whole flourish, which has been a privilege. I take great pride in my job and am really pleased to be taking this next step with Gelder Group.

“I’m looking forward to working across our regional branches and to be focusing on supporting the next generation by recruiting more apprentices, which is a huge priority for the company.”
