A Nottingham business which specialises in demolition and commercial refurbishment is calling on local organisations to donate Easter eggs to Nottingham-based charity Forever Stars.

The charity, which is dedicated to supporting families who’ve suffered a stillbirth or infant loss and has is the chosen charity for this year’s East Midlands Business Masters Awards, organises a family fun day and Easter egg hunt every year as part of their fundraising activities.

Previous years have seen funds raised go towards the creation of ‘Serenity Suites’ in both the City Hospital and the Queens Medical Centre which are occupied on average by two families per week supporting them following their loss.

This year, the funds raised will be going towards a new and even bigger target, the creation of the Forever Stars Remembrance Garden. This will be a place where families can relax, remember and reflect on their baby and child loss journey in an environment that is both beautiful to look at and respectful to their needs.

The location has already been secured, on Highfields Park, within the University of Nottingham grounds, known by many local families as the former paddling pool area. With the site secured, the race is now on to raise the funds to ensure this five-year project can start to take shape.

Local contractors and experts have already pledged their support, from funding to skills, time, materials and labour. All About Demolition Ltd is one of the specialists looking to help the charity.

Tara Spackman, managing director of All About Demolition, said: “This is an incredible charity with a wonderful mission and vision to support families in the toughest of times. We are keen to help wherever we can and donating these eggs was such a simple idea.

“We’re very excited about their Remembrance Garden project and will be delighted to be able to lend our expertise to the team when they need us there too.”

Jo Sharp, operations and corporate fundraising manager at Forever Stars, said: “We’re hugely thankful to All About Demolition for getting the ball rolling with a fantastic donation of eggs for our annual hunt. Their expertise of course will be hugely beneficial as the project begins to take shape but for now, it is just great to see the little differences here and there that a donation such as this can make.

“If any other businesses or organisations would like to donate some Easter eggs, please do get in touch. It make the day a real treat for all our families and visitors.”
