Wirral leader announces jobs commission

WIRRAL Council Leader Cllr Jeff Green has announced the creation of a new “Wirral Jobs Commission”.

The Commission will be designed to allow Wirral businesses to inform and advise the Leader of the Council on how it believes we should make the most of Government initiatives such as the £1.4 Billion Regional Growth Fund, changes to welfare, the new Work Programme, apprenticeships, health and safety and how the Council can do more to support entrepreneurs and encourage enterprise.

The initiative was announced that the Invest Wirral Business Forum event held at New Brighton’s Floral Pavilion last week.

Wirral Council Leader Cllr Jeff Green said: “We are all in this together and by working together we can ensure the right environment exists to allow business to create the jobs Wirral needs to re-balance our economy and see it grow.

“I want to ensure the Council provides the right conditions and offers the right support to help business flourish in Wirral. I am determined that Wirral Council becomes the best, most business friendly, most supportive council in the country.”
