Appointments: Steve Norris on board; Version One, Linder Myers, and more

ENGINEERING recruitment firm Vital Services Group, has appointed former Conservative minister of transport, Steve Norris, to its board.

Twice his party’s London Mayoral candidate, Mr Norris, from Liverpool, was an MP for 14 years, serving almost five years in the Department of Transport during John Major’s government.

The former chairman of rail infrastructure services group Jarvis Plc is currently a commissioner of the Independent Transport Commission.

Vital’s chief executive John Smith said: “We are delighted to have someone of Steve’s calibre joining us as we expand our group. He brings invaluable industry experience and is respected as one of the few politicians to also have a successful career in industry.”

MANCHESTER law firm Linder Myers has recruited a new marketing director and a marketing and communications executive.

Dougie Watt joins the firm as marketing director having previously held the position of group managing director at creative agency And. He will oversee Linder Myers’ marketing strategy with a particular focus on business development.

Joining from b2b marketing agency Marketecture, Debbie Stuttard will be responsible for marketing communications including digital activity. The appointments follow the creation of the new role of PR manager earlier in the year filled by Rana Audah who joined from Ernst & Young in April.

MACCLESFIELD document management and imaging software company Version One has appointed Mark Palmer as its new head of product development.

He succeeds Martin Harbour who remains in the business in a new role, spearheading the product strategy.

Mr Palmer said: “Version One’s pedigree in the UK document management space together with its year-on-year growth strategy makes it an exciting time to be joining the company. I look forward to delivering the product enhancements and innovations necessary to support Version One’s growth ambitions.”

GIANT, employment services provider, has appointed of Chris Dwyer as sales manager and Simon Malpas as business development manager. The pair will cover the North for the Lonbdon-based firm.

We are thrilled to have him on board and look forward to extending our relationships further with the recruitment agencies in the northern region. Mr Dwyer, a former account director at Parasol said: “This is an exciting opportunity for me to join giant at this stage when we are looking to enhance the brand in the North of UK.
