ANS to roll out new cloud service

MANCHESTER-based ANS has launched a new cloud hosting service aimed at businesses of all sizes.

National Cloud will use the firm’s new 20,000 sq ft data centre at the Sharp Project in east Manchester where it is investing £8m over the next three years.

The company says it will offer “simplified and reliable cloud-based services” providing companies with “increased service levels and reduced downtime”. It has committed £10m in the service, which includes the Sharp Project investment.

Managing director Paul Sweeney said: “We have made significant investments in technical development, personnel and our new data centre at The Sharp Project to create National Cloud. By leveraging these assets and economies of scale, we believe that the offering makes the best enterprise-level technology affordable, together with providing an excellent level of service.

“Being managed, the solution frees up IT personnel’s time – otherwise spent on support, performance management or security – to focus on developing the applications that will give businesses competitive advantage.”

In the six months to the end of September earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increased by 17% to £1.4m, while sales grew 13% to £20.3m.
