More acquisitions for Harrington Brooks

DEBT management firm Harrington Brooks has taken on more clients following the acquisition of customer books from two firms.

The Manchester business, bought by RJD Partners and existing management last year, has acquired books from Glasgow-based Carrington Dean and Harrogate’s Nostrum Group.

The value of the deals were not disclosed.

It means the firm now has 45,000 clients, 480 staff and annual turnover of £33m. It provides financial and debt advice, debt management plans, individual voluntary arrangements and related non-lending services including claims management.

Chief executive Matthew Cheetham said: “Harrington Brooks continues to look for acquisition and affiliate opportunities. The announcement of a debt management protocol and the cashflow implications will lead to further consolidation in the market.”
