Appointments: Familiar face returns to Bentley; NR Barton & more

THE Volkswagen Group has reappointed Wolfgang Dürheimer as chairman and chief executive of Bentley Motors.

Mr Dürheimer, who ran Bentley between 2011 and 2012 will return to Crewe-based Bentley on June 1, in succession to Wolfgang Schreiber, who is moving on within the VW group.

Under the leadership of Schreiber, Bentley had a record-breaking year in 2013 with sales growing by 15.5% to €1.68bn. Profit rose by 67% to €167.7m. In the first quarter of 2014, Bentley boosted deliveries by a further 17%.

Wolfgang Dürheimer, 55, who is currently running VW’s motorsport arm,
holds a degree in engineering and started his career in 1986 with BMW.

NEIL Whittingham has been promoted to partner at Wigan accountancy firm NR Barton, seven years after joining the practice as a manager.

Mr Whittingham is the sixth partner at the firm and has a wide portfolio of both individual and corporate clients with a particular focus on limited companies and audits.

LEIGH Webb has joined Ainscough Crane Hire, the Wigan-based company, as sales director.

Mr Webb joins the business from railway maintenance equipment supplier Torrent Trackside, where he was sales and operations director.

He said: “As part of the executive team that runs the day-to-day operations of Ainscough, I’m looking forward to playing a major role in the future success of the business. Ainscough has a great heritage and an impressive client base and I will be focusing on helping the established market leader to reach new heights.”

WINTERHILL Largo, the North West asset valuation and recovery specialist, has appointed Richie Morton as business development director.

Mr Morton joins the business with many years’ experience in commercial debt recovery and asset based lending. He has previously worked for business rescue specialist Cooper Williamson, accountancy firm Clarke Nicklin and most recently debt recovery provider Optimum Ledger Management.
