LAW firm Ward Hadaway has boosted its Manchester office with the recruitment of an experienced family law team from commercial boutique firm Turner Parkinson

Partners Michael Chapman and Martin Karran, along with solicitor Jenny Arnold are joining the Newcastel-headquartered firm.

Jointly the trio has more than 35 years’ experience advising on all aspects of family and matrimonial issues.

Martin Hulls, partner and head of Office at Ward Hadaway in Manchester, said: “It has always been our intention to extend the range of services which we offer clients in Manchester and the North West and the addition of such a well-respected and well-established family law team will greatly enhance our offering in the region.”

PANNONE Corporate has made its first lateral hire since its launch as a stand-alone firm.

It has appointed Richard James as a legal director. He joins from Hill Dickinson where he was a director in the real estate team.

Richard, who joined Hill Dickinson in 2004 following its merger with Bullivant Jones, has a wide range of real estate experience with particular emphasis on retail development and multiple property portfolio transactions.

Meanwhile, the firm has won a number of new clients in recent weeks including with £450m turnover group  NG Bailey, which is based in Ilkley, West Yorkshire, and Bonningtons Plastics, of Nottingham, engaging the firm.

KUITS Solicitors, the Manchester commercial law firm advised Accurist Watches on the sale of its business to Time Products (UK) Ltd.

Since its establishment in 1946 in London’s Clerkenwell district by Asher and Rebecca Loftus, the Accurist name has been become a well-regarded British watch brand.

The Time Products Group houses some of the world’s leading watch brands, including Sekonda and Limit, as well as luxury brands such as Girard Perregaux, Piaget and Hublot.

Chairman of Time Products, Marcus Margulies, said: “The Margulies and Loftus families have known each other for over 50 years and recognise the benefits that will stem from the merger of these two very famous brands.”
