Ex-Gresham man Wolstenholme makes Primary move

EXPERIENCED North West private equity investor Iain Wolstenholme has joined Primary Capital as a partner and will launch its new Manchester office.

Mr Wolstenholme was previously with Gresham Private Equity in Manchester where with former colleague Andy Marsh he led a number of successful investments including ICR Integrity and Hotter Shoes.

He has worked in the regional market for 20 years and before his seven-year stint at Gresham he worked for PwC and EY.

Primary Capital’s nww office – its first outside London, will target the North. The investor recently announced that it had closed on its latest fund, Primary IV at its target of £225m. Primary IV will have the same strategy for each of its previous funds, targeting management buy-outs and buy-ins with enterprise values of between £20m and £100m and where Primary IV will make equity investments of between £10m and £45m.
