SALFORD-based Raw Design has been named as one of 18 UK creative firms that have won a year of business mentoring from top industry experts.

Organised by the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (NESTA), the programme, now in its second year, provides companies working in TV production, advertising, film, video games, design, animation, digital media and publishing with expert business mentoring to help them prosper.

Mentors taking part in the scheme include Ten Alps chief executive Alex Connock, former Endemol executive Peter Bazalgette and Steve Macallister, managing director of sales and distribution for BBC Worlwide.

Jonathan Kestenbaum, chief executive of NESTA said: “The creative industries are a vital source of economic growth in the UK but they require tailored business support to succeed. We are thrilled to have attracted such a high calibre of the mentors to guide these fledgling companies. They will have access to valuable industry knowledge.”

Mason Media has picked up two new clients and unveiled a new brand identity for the company.

Skelmersdale-based GermWarfare, which turned down a deal on TV’s Dragons Den, has hired the agency to run a media relations campaign for its Halo laundry detergents.

Meanwhile, Ellesmere Port technology firm MSoft has asked Mason to promote its innovative web-based blood and equipment tracking systems for the public and commercial sectors.

Coinciding with the two new client wins, Mason Media has unveiled its new brand identity and website www.masonmedia.co.uk, which were designed and built by Liverpool digital agency Ph Creative.
