BUDGET airline Ryanair is trumpeting another new route from Liverpool John Lennon Airport – a twice weekly service to Bari in southern Italy.

It is the first route of Ryanair’s Liverpool summer 2017 schedule, which will be launched in full soopn.

It will be the North West’s only service to Bari and the first time the southern Italian city has been served from Liverpool. Flights will operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays, with the first departure on  March 28 2017.

Bari is the main city of the Apulia region of southern Italy, on the Adriatic Sea and is well known as a port and university city, as well as the city of Saint Nicholas.

Ryanair celebrated the new  Bari route by releasing seats for sale at prices starting from £29.99 for travel in April and May.

Robin Tudor, Head of PR for Liverpool John Lennon Airport, said: “This is yet another new route to be served from Liverpool and the only flight to Bari from the North West.

“It comes hot on the heels of Ryanair’s news of flights to Marrakech from here, and gives the region’s travellers an even greater choice of destinations from Liverpool.”

Ryanair’s Robin Kiely said, “Ryanair is pleased to announce a new route from Liverpool to Bari, which starts in March with a twice weekly service, the first of our summer 2017 routes, with our full schedule set to be unveiled soon.”
