Female only health and beauty venue opens in city

A FEMALE only health and beauty venue is launching in Liverpool this weekend with the hope that local women can enjoy everything from weight-lifting to makeovers all under one roof.

Nourish, which is based a stone’s throw away from the city’s business district on Hatton Garden, is the creation of personal trainer and health coach Grace McGinnis. The venue is set underground and away from the hustle and bustle of Liverpool’s busy streets.

Grace’s vision has been in the making for over 5 years after she noticed just how many women are put off getting fit in mixed gender gyms.

She said: “My own personal experiences of gyms are that women can feel very insecure in them. Women I was working with reminded me how I felt when I was more insecure about fitness before I learned how to train and many don’t have the confidence to really learn how to train. It is about taking away barriers.

Nourish“Women don’t want to feel embarrassed if they’re unsure of what they’re doing and they can also feel insecure about men who could be looking at them. This is about giving women freedom to not have to worry about going to the gym.”

As well as a state of the art gym, Nourish will also offer yoga and dance classes, a spa with Kundalini Massages and Moroccan baths and an onsite personal trainers and hairdressers. There will also be makeup artists offering everything from HD brows to a nail bar as well as nutrition advice on hand and experiences and workshops to take part in. Prices will start from £97 per month.

All staff and personal trainers at Nourish will be women and Grace, who is originally from Northern Ireland and has lived in Liverpool for 12 years, is eager to create an open female community where members feel comfortable. She said: “City living can be very difficult and it can be hard to get everything you need in one place. We are hoping to create a community and make it a very open, female orientated place where women feel strong together.

Nourish“We are eager to give women everything all under one roof too, so they can head to the gym and lift weights or they can head to a yoga, dance or meditation class. There will be such a range of experiences that I believe will give females massive benefits and a lifestyle change. By having everything under one roof, we are keeping things convenient for them.

“We are trying to deliver something exceptional and I believe you shouldn’t have to change your life just because you feel uncomfortable in the gym.”

Nourish will open in Liverpool city centre on Friday, October 14.
