Business Birmingham gears up for MIPIM 2011

NINETEEN private sector partners will be part of a delegation heading to southern France next month to showcase the best of the Birmingham property industry.

Willmott Dixon Construction, Carillion and Argent are among those joining inward investment organisation Business Birmingham at MIPIM 2011, in Cannes, from March 8 to 11.

The event will give the city’s property sector a chance to showcase its best developments and regeneration projects.

This is the first time Business Birmingham, the city’s new inward investment programme, will manage the presence at MIPIM.

It will work with the private sector partners at events to engage developers and companies looking to invest in the city.

City council leader Cllr Mike Whitby said: “Building on Team Birmingham’s successful presence at MIPIM since 2005, this year’s delegation will demonstrate how the city’s public and private sectors are working together to blaze a trail for the city and its reputation.

“I am delighted that this year will see our most interactive stand ever, which will be enjoyed by thousands of potential investors, developers and financiers as part of a targeted programme to showcase the city, our Big City Plan and our sustainable vision for the future.”
