Cannes calling as 400 delegates head for MIPIM

FOURTEEN events will take place over 48 hours this week as the second city begins its events programme at international property conference MIPIM tomorrow.

Organised by Marketing Birmingham, the first event will give delegates from its 19 conference partners a chance to learn what Birmingham-related activities are planned in Cannes and receive an update on the Big City Plan regeneration project.

The schedule has around 400 delegates registered while city council leader Cllr Mike Whitby will be speaking at 10 events covering areas such as investment in infrastructure, funding and low carbon development.

He said: “We have been coming to MIPIM for some years, launching development plans and initiating discussions with developers and end users, highlighting Birmingham’s vision for future growth.

“This year the city will be demonstrating how it is currently one of the most active regional cities in regards to development and construction, with major schemes underway such as New Street Gateway.  Birmingham is delivering on its development promise.”
