THE chief executive of Birmingham-based pubco Mitchells and Butlers is leaving the company.
Adam Fowle has been in the role for two years and departs by “mutual consent”, the firm said in a statement.
Non-executive director Jeremy Blood has taken over as interim chief executive and a search to find Mr Fowle’s successor is already under way.
He will remain with M&B for a period of time to help with the transition.
Mr Blood was appointed a non-executive director in January last year and was previously managing director at Scottish and Newcastle.
Chairman Simon Burke said: “Adam has made a significant contribution over a number of years to M&B and in particular in the past two years, developing and leading the strategic change the company has undertaken whilst maintaining a strong operational performance in challenging conditions.
“He leaves the company in a much stronger position than when he took over as chief executive and we wish him all the best for the future.
“Jeremy has significant industry and corporate experience and I look forward to working with him during this interim period.”
M&B, whose brands include Harvester, All Bar One and Toby Carvery, is due to announce its half-year results on May 20.
