Telford business wins prestigious Oman deal

Fabweld Steel Products (FSP) has won a valuable order to supply its Pop Up Power Units to the biggest leisure development in Oman.

FSP will install 56 units around the Al Mouj Muscat site which comprises a seven storey, 200 bedroom hotel, but which will eventually see 4,00 homes built alongside a marina, a golf course, three more hotels and extensive retail and leisure developments.

The Pop Up Units in Al Mouj Muscat are hidden from view, and will be used in car parks, pedestrian spaces and other locations for slow moving traffic.

FSP’s managing director, Richard Hilton said: “The Al Mouj Muscat is the Sultanate’s premier lifestyle and leisure destination, and demands the highest standards visual aesthetic for this development.”

Closer to home, FSP’s units are being installed in a hotel development near Telford, in which a new 68 bedroom Travelodge will feature a special events area.

FSP hopes now to grow this part of its business, as it is the sole manufacturer and distributor of its in-ground units.

Previous overseas commissions have included work in Cyprus and France.
