People: Law firm makes four promotions; St Modwen appoints MD of industrial and logistics unit; and more

Hogan Lovells has promoted four staff at its Birmingham office.

Anna Crabbe, Corporate (Real Estate), Charles Jemmett, Corporate (Transactional),  Manisha Patel, Corporate (Transactional), and Rebecca Storer, Finance (IERP – construction) have all been promoted to senior associate.

Commenting on the promotions, regional managing partner for the UK and Africa, Susan Bright, said: “These promotions reflect the quality and breadth of our market leading practice in the UK and our commitment to nurturing and growing our talented people.

St Modwen has appointed Rupert Joseland as managing director of St Modwen Industrial & Logistics, a newly established division set up to drive forward the company’s industrial & logistics growth plans.

Mark Allan, chief executive of St Modwen, said: “Backed by our strategic objective to grow a significant industrial and logistics business we now have the structure and team in place to drive forward our plans. Rupert is a highly experienced senior leader and, together with an expansive team of experts, is charged with harnessing St Modwen’s industrial and logistics potential and further elevating our market position.”

Northbridge Industrial Services, the industrial services and rental company,has announced a change to its board.

David Marshall, who became a non-executive director of the group shortly after Northbridge listed on AIM in 2006, is to retire from the board at the time of the AGM in June.

Marshall, through his role as a major shareholder of Western Selection was also the cornerstone investor in Northbridge at the time of the IPO and was instrumental in its early successes.

He served as chairman of the audit committee during most of that time, only recently passing on the role to Ash Mehta.

Western Selection, which has continued to invest in the Group since the IPO, remains a major and supportive long-term shareholder. Northbridge remains Western Selection’s main strategic investment and Western Selection now holds 3,300,000 Northbridge shares (11.83%).

The group has taken steps in recent times to refresh the board with the appointment of Nitin Kaul and Judith Aldersey-Williams as independent non-executive directors.

Peter Harris, chairman, said: “On behalf of the whole board and other shareholders, I would like to thank David for his service and contribution to Northbridge, as well as his considerable input and advice, over the last 13 years. We are sorry to see the departure of our longest serving Non-Executive Director and we wish David and his family all good fortune for the future.”
