GME Springs wins contract to supply Morgan Motor Company

A COVENTRY firm has a spring in its step after agreeing a deal to supply suspension parts to sports car manufacturer the Morgan Motor Company.

GME Springs will supply specially-designed springs that the prestigious automotive company will use in its car suspension systems.
Mr Marcus Gerrard, of GME Springs, said he was pleased to add the Morgan Motor Company to their automotive client list.
“We were delighted to have been approached by a company as prestigious as Morgan,” he said.
“As an original equipment manufacturer it is extremely gratifying to see our springs being used in vehicles of this undoubted quality. We are now looking forward to working closely with Morgan for a long time to come.”
GME, which also has offices in Birmingham, Scotland and Sheffield, will supply the parts directly to the Morgan Motor Company factory in Malvern, Worcestershire.
Mr Greg Dixon-Smith, supply chain manager for the Morgan Motor Company, said: “GME supply leaf springs for our classic range of cars, which is something we have done for more than 100 years now, so leaf springs have been a long part of our history.
“The quality has got to be good in order to get the right handling on the car, so if we get the right quality springs we continue using them, and we get that from GME Springs.”
The Morgan Motor Company has a long established history at its Pickersleigh Road factory having been based there since 1918, and the firm prides itself on a reputation for producing high quality vehicles.
Mr Gerrard said the engineering firm had also produced a state-of-the-art suspension design, which has been presented to directors at Morgan for them to consider using in the company’s vehicles in the future.
