PR firms battle it out for PRide Awards

THE cream of Birmingham’s PR and communications sector will be battling it out for top honours at the Midlands final of this year’s Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) PRide Awards.

Finalists for Outstanding Consultancy include Bright PR, McCann Erickson Public Relations, S&X Media and Willoughby Public Relations. Better PR, Lava PR and Rewired PR are all shortlisted for Outstanding Small Consultancy 2010.

It is an all female line-up of finalists in the Outstanding Young Communicator award with Chloe Shrubb, of Staffordshire County Council, Hannah Johnson, of Willoughby Public Relations, Kathy Doyle, of McCann Erickson Public Relations and Tara Tomes, of Rewired PR all competing for the coveted title.

Jay O’Connor, CIPR President said: “The CIPR PRide Awards are a celebration of PR achievement and a showcase of campaigns implemented by the best of the best from across the UK. I offer my congratulations to all those who have reached this stage of the competition. Now more than ever, demonstrating the value of what we do, and the positive impact we have, is tremendously important.”

The judging process for the CIPR PRide awards is rigorous with a national panel of industry experts assessing the shortlisted entries and selecting winners.

There were 1,221 entries this year across 25 categories and the winners will be announced at a Las Vegas-themed awards ceremony, presented by Joanne Malin at the Hilton Metropole, Birmingham on Friday December 3.
