10 places to live if you crave a good work-life balance

The best places to live for a good work-life balance have been revealed and it could be time to pack your bags and get moving if a more chilled out life is right up your street.

Expert Market, with help from Swiss banking group UBS, ranked cities worldwide based on their average work and leisure time. They considered how many hours per week and per year people worked as well as how many holidays they were entitled too.

The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development claims that the ideal place to live and work must have affordable housing, a decent income with an enjoyable job, a vibrant community which offers plenty of education.

They also claim that the area shouldn’t be overrun with pollution, should be a fairly safe place to live and should have access to affordable healthcare.

Here in the UK, our average working week is 43.6 hours, but we can go up to 48 hours. In fact, in many jobs, working over 48 hours a week is simply the norm. Holiday wise, on average, we’re entitled to 28 days’ paid leave each year.

So if you’re thinking about ditching your long work days for something that suits your needs more, check out this top 10.
