Live music fans get ready for Wolvestock

MUSIC lovers in Wolverhampton have plenty to enjoy as the city hosts a series of live music events during the next 10 days.

Award-winning country music festival, Wolvestock starts at Wolverhampton Racecourse today and continues tomorrow (Sunday), with live music between midday and 8.30pm on both days.

Then, between 3 and 10.30pm next Saturday (July 9), the focus shifts to the inaugural Banstock Acoustic Music Festival, staged at Bantock House.

The line-up for Wolvestock features 22 acts including: Dee D & The James Gang Band, Emma Swindells Band, Shotgun Annies, The Ash Cooper Band, Narn, Angels with Dirty Faces ft Stuart Landon, Henry Smith Band, The Diablos Band, Holloway Road, Acoustic Journey, Texas Tornados, Darcy Crawford, and the Blue Genes Band.
 
A vast array of trade and food stalls, and a bar will also be on offer at the Dunstall Park venue.
 
Day tickets are priced at £7 adults, £4 children (5-16), with free parking.

Cllr John Reynolds, Wolverhampton’s cabinet member for City Economy, said: “Wolvestock is a popular country music showcase and I’m sure the line-dancing will be in full flow again as people enjoy Wolverhampton.

“We are very excited about the first Banstock, which promises to be a fantastic, family-friendly event in the picturesque surroundings of Bantock Park.

“It is particularly pleasing that Banstock will be able to showcase the skills of so many highly-talented local performers.”
