Supported living agency sets up new base in West Bromwich

AN agency specialising in helping adults with learning disabilities is to open a new centre in West Bromwich following a deal brokered by Bond Wolfe.

Select Lifestyles, which offers supportive living, residential and day services, has taken a six-year lease with an option to purchase on a property in All Saints Way.

Planning permission has been obtained to convert the former NHS care trust property into seven self-contained flats.

Les Trumpeter, from Select Lifestyles, said: “This is our first venture into West Bromwich after successfully operating elsewhere in the West Midlands since 2007.

“We intend to begin work later this year with phased opening likely to start from spring 2017 onwards.”

Richard Horwell, commercial property surveyor at Bond Wolfe, said: “There was a great deal of interest from the moment we commenced marketing – prominent buildings with an alternative use angle are in high demand at present.

“We look forward to seeing Select Lifestyles transform it into a venue that offers a future with real purpose.”

The premises extend to one acre and had been considered suitable for a variety of uses including offices, leisure/gym facilities, day nursery and schooling.

It takes in a three storey main building, a former office block and a three bedroom detached house.
