Expansion plans underway as manufacturer gets set to build new site

ELITE Office Furniture is creating a new manufacturing, storage, offices and showroom facility in East Yorkshire.

The family-run manufacturing and retail business currently employs over 130 local people and has been operating in the East Riding area since 1986.

The new Goole-based 22,692sqm manufacturing and storage facility with office and showroom will allow the business to progress its expansion plans, aiming to double its staff numbers over the next ten years.

Elite Office Furniture has been advised by Indigo Planning.

John Hull, owner of Elite Office Furniture, said: “We are an established local business and want to remain so. This permission will allow us to continue our growth and expansion into the next decade, contributing to the local economy and maintaining our links with the Yorkshire supply chain.”

Nick Fillingham, associate director at Indigo Planning, said: “After two years’ hard work, we’re delighted to have helped Elite Office Furniture safeguard its future and expand onto a new site with a purpose built facility.  Together, we built a robust planning case that meets national and local planning policy, which was supported by the council and its planning committee.”

Elite Office Furniture plans to begin construction as soon as possible.
