Appointments: Ward Hadaway, Hammerson, HLM Architects

LEGAL firm Ward Hadaway has announced a raft of promotions.

Koby Gyasi, a member of the insolvency and corporate recovery team acting for IPs as well as individuals on corporate and personal insolvencies, will be based in Leeds in an associate position.

Also to be promoted at Ward Hadaway’s Leeds office is property lawyer Laura Potts, who specialises in commercial property clients, as well as quasi-non government organisations and charities.

Six other lawyers have been promoted to associate position in addition to these Leeds appointments, including Lucy Cleghorn, Richard Greensit, Victoria Lowrie, Rachael McCartney, Steven Roper, and Gemma Wood, who will be based in Newcastle.

HAMMERSON’S Victoria Quarter shopping destination in Leeds is set for a new general manager.

James Bailey joins from Land Securities, where he was centre director at the White Rose shopping centre in Leeds. He has worked for Hammerson previously as operations development manager.

He began his career with LaSalle Investment Management in 1999.

Janet Bishopp, head of shopping centre management at Hammerson, said: “We are very pleased to welcome James back to Hammerson and to the team at Victoria Quarter. James will be taking over the role from acting general manager, Nicola Hanson, a longstanding and extremely valuable member of our team and I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Nicola for her hard work and leadership in the interim period.

“Victoria Quarter is a landmark destination for shoppers in Leeds and across the North of England, and James brings significant experience to our team as we continue to enhance our luxury retail offering in the Grade II listed Victorian building and look ahead to the opening of Victoria Gate late next year.”

INTERNATIONAL architects HLM have appointed two senior architects Jeannine Gavaghan and Delia Harmston, who joined the Sheffield-based company as associates.

THe pair will be leading the new development team, and Ms Gavaghan will be promoting HLM’s student accommodation designs.

The company has also promoted Andy Illingworth and Lisa Don to the positions of associates of the interior design team in Sheffield and Cardiff.
