34 jobs created as M&S gears up for latest city centre opening

A NEW M&S Simply Food is set to open at the Central Square development on Wellington Street in Leeds, creating 34 jobs.

The 3,100 sq ft store will open its doors to customers on November 10 and the retailer said it will feature one of the largest range of ‘Food on the Move’ products in any M&S store nationwide.

The store will also offer a variety of M&S’s everyday essentials, popular prepared meals, delicatessen foods, beers, wines and spirits, and the new Barista Bakery concept which is designed for customers to collect pastries and coffees when they are on the go.

The store will complement the existing M&S city centre offer, including the Briggate and the M&S Company Archive stall at Kirkgate Market.

David Elsworth, store manager at the new M&S Simply Food Central Square Leeds, said: “We are delighted to be bringing M&S’s quality food options to the Leeds business community. The new store has been designed with busy city centre workers in mind, so our customers will find a range of food and drink that can be enjoyed on the move and fresh, quality dinner options that can be collected on the way home from the office.

“In addition, the popular Food to Order and Collect in Store services, plus several card-only till points will ensure shoppers receive a speedy and convenient service.”
