Executive appointment for Safestyle

Window manufacturer and retailer Safestyle has announced that an experienced operations manager will join the business as a chief operating officer.

Giles Richell is joining the board immediately, having worked in the manufacturing and supplier industries for 25 years.

He was most recently managing director at Otters Controls and Eminox Limited, which is part of the larger privately owned Hexadex Group.

Prior to that he was managing director of a market leading commercial interiors supplier and also served as MD of the international marketing services group St Ives between 2009 and 2012.

In his new role, Giles will work alongside Steve Birmingham, chief executive officer, and Mike Robinson, chief financial officer, to enable the Group build on its position as the leading operator in the UK retail replacement window and door market.

His strong operational background and experience gained from a successful career across the manufacturing and design sectors, make him the ideal candidate for the newly created role of Chief Operating Officer.

In its most recent results for the first half of the year, the company reported a record performance with revenues up to £83.5m and pre-tax profits reaching £10.6m for the half year to 30 June 2016, compared to a total of £9.0m last year.
