People: Knight Frank; Talasey; Burberry; and more

Knight Frank has strengthened its Leeds office with the appointments of Richard Brooke and Brad Harris as partners, specialising in capital markets and residential land & development respectively.

Both join from the Leeds office of commercial property consultants and auctioneers Allsops.

Brooke, who worked at Cushman & Wakefield before Allsops, said: “This is a major move and an important opportunity for me.

“I am pleased to have the opportunity to join Knight Frank and am ready to develop my career further with a world-renowned property consultancy.  

“The capital markets team is the leading player in the Yorkshire region, and I am excited to contribute to its continued success together my fellow partner Graham Foxton.”

Scunthorpe-based Talasey, an independent supplier of landscaping solutions, has appointed Lisa Young (formerly of Stark Group) as its new managing director.

She brings more than 10 years’ experience in the merchant industry, having previously had a five-year spell as commercial director at Jewson and most recently serving as European group category director at Stark Group.

Young said: “In my 10 years in the merchant sector, I’ve been full of admiration for the way in which Talasey has gone about its business as a supplier that goes above and beyond to support its merchant customers.

“Talasey’s approach has paid dividends in terms of achieving strong and sustained growth.

“I am pleased to have been given the opportunity to become managing director and am excited by the vision and the scale of ambition that the business has to continue its growth.”

She will oversee day-to-day operations for the business – which has a 100-strong team and last year celebrated its 20th anniversary – and will work with Talasey founder and CEO Mark Wall to shape and deliver the strategy for the firm.

Wall said: “Lisa’s appointment marks another significant step in strengthening our Senior Leadership Team.

“Her extensive experience and strategic insight will enhance our operational capacity and provide valuable support as we continue to grow and evolve over the coming years.”

West Yorkshire-based fashion brand, Burberry, says independent non-executive director Sam Fischer will retire from the Board with effect from the conclusion of the company’s AGM in July 2025 to focus on his business commitments in Australia.

Fischer joined the Board on 1 November 2019. He serves on the Remuneration and Nomination Committees and will continue to do so until his retirement.

Specialist business advisory firm FRP has added three colleagues to its partnership as it continues to invest in its team across the UK.

96 further colleagues have been promoted across the business’ restructuring advisory, corporate finance and financial advisory pillars, along with its central services team.

In total, 27 colleagues have been promoted in FRP’s London offices, 12 in Manchester, nine in Sheffield, eight in Brighton, seven in Brentwood, four in Cyprus, as well as others across the UK.

As part of its latest round of promotions, Thomas Edwards (Cardiff) and Daniel Brecker (Manchester) have been named partners in FRP’s corporate finance practice, while Tony Keehan (Brentwood) has been named partner in its restructuring advisory team.

Meanwhile, Claire Huartson (Brentwood) has been named appointment-taking director and Mick Naumann (Leigh on Sea) director in the business’ restructuring practice. Alexis Ioannides – based in FRP’s office in Cyprus – has been made director in its financial advisory team.
