Nottingham training firm wins major restaurant contract

Remit Training, the Nottingham-based firm, has won a contract with a major restaurant group to train apprentices to work across 300 outlets.

The Casual Dining Group (CDG), which operates Bella Italia, Café Rouge and Las Iguanas, has announced a national roll out of apprenticeships across chain of 300 restaurants.

Following a successful pilot, which has seen more than 100 young people given the opportunity to build their skills and qualifications at CDG, the group has pledged to double this number over the coming year.

Steve Richards, CEO, Casual Dining Group, said: “Training and development are the foundations of our restaurants, giving our people clear career progression and our guests, fantastic dining experiences.

“We’re committed to rolling out this apprenticeship scheme with Remit, and highlighting the tremendous career opportunities our business offers ambitious young people who want to develop their careers in restaurants and hospitality.”

Remit chief executive, Sue Pittock, said: “We are pleased with the results of the Casual Dining Group pilot programme and look forward to supporting the roll out of this apprenticeship opportunity further across the business.

“Our award-winning hospitality apprenticeship schemes have been proven to improve staff retention as well as helping career progression opportunities for the individuals undertaking an apprenticeship. We look forward to continuing working with CDG over the coming years.”
