New Derby office plans could bring 260 jobs

A sketch of how the new offices could look

Plans for 26,000 sq ft of office space have been submitted to Derby City Council as part of an ambitious redevelopment of the city’s flood defences.

The offices, to be built on the site of Tomlinson’s yard and works and the City Road Business Centre (both of which are to be demolished) near St Mary’s Bridge in Derby, could create up to 260 jobs.

The new office buildings will be three storeys high and, if the plan gets the green light, will replace the existing buildings which have suffered from numerous break-ins and vandalism – the most recent of which was in November 2016.

The new offices will be designed by Ian Robertson Architects, based in Falmouth.
