Marketing agency reveals plans to triple profits

A Leicestershire marketing agency has revealed plans to double turnover and more than triple profit over the next three years.

The ambitious plans come on the back of a rebrand for Mocha Marketing, which was set up five years ago, which will see it adopt the moniker ‘Mocha Communicates’ across its social platforms and new website.

The firm says that by the end of 2019 its team will have doubled from only last year to employ 11 staff. –

Managing director and founder of Mocha Marketing, Gemma Orton, said: “The Mocha logo has been great and has taken us a long way, but we have felt that it now doesn’t reflect our growth or the business we are becoming. I’ve always been incredibly passionate about how the team communicate and even more so as we grow. So, the rebrand has given us a huge opportunity to express this.”

Orton left a high-level marketing role at Donington Park Racing to go freelance five years ago. After just six weeks of registering Mocha Marketing business, Orton found out she was pregnant – but the decision was made to push on and the hard work soon paid off, turning over £100,000 in year one without any real forward goal or plan.

She said: “After all the frustrations I had experienced being client side when recruiting agencies myself, I knew I wanted our agency to be different. I wanted our name to be unique; without a marketing acronym or the need to be clever. Naming a business is harder than naming a child! I wanted it to reflect the personable element of our agency. Everybody always seems to have a good reaction to our name. It’s memorable and I’m proud of its reputation… so we’ve enhanced it.”

Orton says she has a 5-7 year goal in mind to appoint a junior Board of directors.

She added: “Mocha was my original baby, I am very proud of what we have achieved in the last five years. No matter how many challenges we’ve had, when you get past them that euphoric feeling is indescribable – almost addictive.

“I’ve learnt that I am a true entrepreneur and love developing a business and everything that comes with it.

“There’s also no doubt that it couldn’t have happened without the fantastic support around me; firstly, our team at Mocha who are highly motivated by our goals, the business community around us and of course family and friends.”
