Golf club sold to National Trust in £800,000 deal

Grangelinks Property has sold its Sandilands Golf Club in Lincolnshire to the National Trust for , which is set to re-wild the land and use it for charitable purposes.

Sandilands closed for the final time in December 2018 after Sandilands Leisure, its then owner, entered liquidation.

The £800,000 deal is the National Trust’s first on the East coast, as it looks to expand its conservation efforts in the area.

The sale of the site also involved outlining the provisions for the future Viking Link electrical supply that comes into the country from the North Sea, from the Netherlands. Plans for the National Trust to use the land for non-commercial purposes were also navigated in an effort to complete the purchase.

Langleys Solicitors acted on behalf of Grangelinks Property on the sale of the Sandilands Golf Club to the National Trust. It also acted on the initial property purchase of the land six years ago.

Peter Horner, commercial property partner at Langleys, said: “Despite the current economic conditions, there is still plenty of business to be done, and work to conserve sites like this does not need to be held up. We’re pleased to have acted on behalf of Grangelinks Property once again and we welcome the National Trust into the East Coast.

“We’re excited to see what they now do with the land, and look forward to visiting in the months to come. It was important to ensure the Viking Link electrical supply was protected, and that the charity is able to put the land to full use for their intended plans.”
