On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Colette O’Neill will assume the role of assistant director of care and support at Nottingham Community Housing Association (NCHA) on the 8th May.
This newly named role reflects NCHA focus to delivering excellent care and support services, and replaces a previous Assistant Director for Homes and Wellbeing position.
This key role will oversee the delivery of care and support services at 100 residential schemes and outreach services, with a combined turnover of circa £33m.
O’Neill brings to the role more than two decades of experience at NCHA.
She said: “I’ve been at NCHA for almost 21 years, as a Care and Support Project Manager and Contracts Manager. I’ve had roles in housing and, most recently, I’ve led our business development team. I understand how all these parts fit together to deliver excellent services for our customers, and it’s this wealth of knowledge I’ll bring to my new role.”
Holly Dagnall, director of homes and wellbeing said: “It’s been fantastic to witness Colette’s development and progression over the years. Her experience places her in an excellent position to address current sector challenges and any emerging future risks.”
Gemma De Brito leaves the position of assistant director of Homes and Wellbeing, after 21 years at NCHA to become executive director for Children in Care for YMCA Robin Hood Group.
Ariel Plastics, a supplier of roofing sheets, rooflights and roofing accessories, has appointed a new sales director in the first of a series of developments and announcements as the company targets ambitious growth.
The appointment of Jennifer Brookes as its new sales director is pivotal for the business as it looks to strengthen existing industry relationships, identify new opportunities, launch new products and champion its credentials as an integral part of a UK manufacturer at the forefront of sustainable practices.
Jen Brookes
Brookes will draw on her vast experience in the construction, DIY, retail and builders’ merchant sectors to build on the company’s established reputation for distributing roofing, glazing and cladding products.
She said: “Ariel Plastics has been the UK’s leading plastics distributor for a long time – but it is ripe for a transformation that can take it to the next level, and I am thrilled to have joined Ariel at such an important time.
Brookes has taken over the reins from Paul Goddard, who has stepped back from the helm after three decades with the business.
Goddard will still be actively involved in his new role as commercial sales manager, so the company can still draw on his wealth of experience and integral knowledge of the business and the industries it supplies.
Brookes continued: “The vast majority of Ariel Plastics products are manufactured in the UK by Brett Martin, which keeps sustainability at the core of everything it does – recycling virtually all waste material from its manufacturing process and generating a significant proportion of the renewable energy it uses.”
“And then there are specialisms such as our cut-to-size service for polycarbonate, acrylic and styrene sheets, which are delivered within 3–5 days nationwide.
“We’ll also go on the front foot promoting our products, including corrugated roofing sheets, bitumen roofing sheets, glazing sheets, multiwall polycarbonate, metal tile systems, roof ventilation, dry fix roofing, roof drainage, roofing membrane, rooflights and cladding sheets. And then there are some new products that we are nearly ready to bring to market.”
