Almost £3,000 has been raised at the R3 East Midlands Ladies Committee’s lunch event for Treetops Hospice – which provides nursing care and emotional support for families in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

Ex Arsenal striker, John Hartson, spoke at the event – which is held every year by the Association of Business Recovery Professionals (R3) East Midlands Ladies Committee – and took place this year at Trent Bridge.

Treetops Hospice was chosen as the beneficiary by the R3 East Midlands ladies committee, which includes professionals from across the city – namely chair Helen Robinson from BDO , Rachel McCahill from Nelsons Solicitors, Chloe Poskitt from Browne Jacobson, Su Garner from Gateley , Megan Wallis from Bates Weston, and Ruth Thurland from Geldards.

A spokesperson for the committee said: “The lunch provides an opportunity for the business community to get together, network and form strong relationships as well as raise money for charity. We’ve been incredibly impressed by the generosity of our guests and we’re delighted to be able to support the vital work being done by the hospice across the East Midlands.”

All proceeds will go to KPMG’s two East Midlands’ partner charities. Framework is an East Midlands based charity and housing association dedicated to preventing homelessness, and promoting opportunities for vulnerable and excluded people.
