Lucky seven for local McDonald’s franchisee

Anna Ellison and Jerry Nichols

Local McDonald’s restaurant franchisee Jerry Nichols has opened his seventh outlet in Nottingham after landing six figure loan from Royal Bank of Scotland.

Situated on the site of the former Wheatsheaf pub in Bobbers Mill, the new 140-seat restaurant is set over two floors.

Jerry Nichols said: “The new restaurant is outstanding and I am very excited about its opening. The Wheatsheaf pub was a landmark in this area and it is great that we have been able to save it from dereliction and turn it into a state of the art venue.
“This is my seventh McDonald’s franchise in Nottingham and I am pleased to be able to continue my investment in the city and to be able to create jobs for the local community.

“Royal Bank of Scotland has been incredibly supportive of this latest venture and our relationship continues to thrive. We have worked together for 15 years and their support has enabled me to develop a strong, successful company which employs over 600 members of staff in the region.”

Anna Ellison, senior relationship manager at Royal Bank of Scotland, said: “I am pleased that we have been able to support Jerry with his latest McDonald’s opening. The new restaurant is fantastic and is set to prove very popular with diners in the local area. It is great that its opening has saved a local landmark building.”
