Traffic alert: M1 closed in Nottinghamshire

The M1 in Nottinghamshire is closed northbound between J25 (Derby) and J26 (Nottingham), due to a HGV fire. Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue Services are in attendance, and the road is expected to be opened again by lunchtime.

Road users are advised to exit the M1 junction 25 and take the A52 eastbound. At the Bramcote roundabout, take the A4007 ‘Ilkeston Road’ and travel north, then turn right onto the A6002. Continue north along the A6002 until the roundabout with the A610. At the roundabout, take the A610 west and re-join the M1 northbound at J26.

Road users are advised to plan their journeys in advance, allow extra time and consider alternative routes if possible.
