City Council throws out trampoline venue plans

A trampoline venue which could have created 50 jobs in Nottingham has been refused planning permission by the City Council.

Flip Out, an Australian trampoline venue owner, wanted to convert a vacant industrial unit on Little Tennis Street, to an 18,800 leisure destination.

However, Nottingham City Council’s planning department has refused permission, citing that it believes the venue would have poor public transport access, and that it prefers the unit to be used for industrial or office use.

In a design and access statement, Croft Design, architects of the proposed scheme, said: “The centre will provide much-needed games and activity space in an area which is currently underprovided.”

“The proposals will bring an existing vacant building back into use, with an established business model that has a proven successful track record and excellent prospects for the future.”

Nottingham City Council gave Red Kangaroo given the green light to transform a former industrial unit on the Blenheim Industrial Estate in November.
