Wildgoose complete largest ever contract in Brum

Wildgoose Construction, based in Derbyshire, has completed the development of a new multi-million pound facility for British Car Auctions in Birmingham.

British Car Auctions has set up on the 20-acre site of a former shipping container business in Perry Barr.

The £8m construction project was the Alfreton firm’s biggest ever contract.

The project, which has taken almost a year to complete, has seen the development of a new purpose-built site including office, sales centre, workshops, restaurant and valet area.

There are also three auction lanes and a digital auction suite as well as parking for more than 800 cars at the site.

Lyndon Bowler, contracts manager for Wildgoose Construction, who was site manager for the project, said: “It was a big project and situated on such a vast site where we had several builds going on at the same time so it was important to get the logistics right.

“As a company, we are very used to big industrial and commercial projects featuring a mixture of build types.
“It was a biggest value contract to date and demonstrates that we have the capacity and capability to deliver these types of projects successfully and it has really pushed us on to the next level.”

He said the firm had received positive feedback from BCA, which has subsequently appointed Wildgoose to future projects.
