The warning from Network Rail comes after emergency services are dealing with a person who was hit by a train at a level crossing in Attenborough.
Trains may be cancelled or delayed. This disruption is expected to continue until approximately 1pm.
CrossCountry customers may use their ticket on East Midlands Trains and Northern via any reasonable route.
East Midlands Trains customers travelling between Nottingham and London may use their tickets via Grantham.
Virgin Trains East Coast services will accept tickets between Grantham and London Kings Cross.
If you are travelling between Nottingham and Derby/East Midlands Parkway/ Long Eaton/Loughborough and Leicester you may use your tickets via Chesterfield.
