One of Leicester’s best-known business figures, Kevin Harris, has left PKF Cooper Parry after 22 years to become audit partner at RSM.

Harris revealed the news on LinkedIn, and says his decision to leave his long-held post came from a desire to work back in Leicester city centre.

Posting on the social media site, Harris said: “It gives me great pleasure to announce today my appointment as a partner with RSM UK. I’m really looking forward to re-engaging with my many friends and associates within Leicestershire and the East Midlands region. Please accept my apologies for the radio silence over the past 12 months whilst I tended to my garden.

“I know many of you were surprised at my decision to resign from my previous firm after 22 years service but the opportunity to return to Leicester as part of a fantastic growing team was too good to miss. I look forward to speaking with you all soon and please do not hesitate to get in touch via my new contact details attached. It feels good to be back!”

Ben Lawrance, RSM’s Leicester office managing partner, said: “I am delighted to welcome Kevin to the team. Kevin is a highly accomplished accountant and auditor, he is very well connected and respected in the Leicester professional services market, and he will be a huge asset to RSM’s small and middle market clients.”

Harris is also the vice chair of the Leicester and Leicestershire LEP and a non-executive director of the East Midlands Chamber of Commerce.
