On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

ValueLicensing, the Derby software resale company, has appointed local tech entrepreneur Brett Butcher as a non-executive director.
Butcher is one of the founders of Datapath and a former vice-president of technology at Electronic Arts (EA Games). He is currently the entrepreneur in residence at the University of Derby.
Butcher said: “We are consolidating a great team here and confronting all the issues that rapid growth brings, but that, as folks say is a ‘quality problem’. I am really enjoying and looking forward to a long and exciting period working and helping to develop the team and strategies for the future.”
The founder and chief executive of the company, Jonathan Horley, added: “I felt we had some gaps in experience, both at the board level and within the business itself. I was then introduced to Brett by David Marshall at Sterling Capital Reserve. Brett’s knowledge and expertise is obvious from his CV. Not only that, but when I met him I knew his approach and personality would be great fit for our business. I’m delighted he has agreed to join us and I’m sure he will be a massive part of our business’s future growth.”
Harris Lamb has appointed a facilities manager.
Ruth Stanton
Ruth Stanton joins the business from CBRE, where she spent seven years as a regional facilities manager, and has previous experience working with Big Lottery Fund.
Richard Fantham, director, said: “Ruth’s appointment comes as the business continues to grow and the number of properties our team takes management responsibility for increases. Ruth has a great deal of experience, managing a range of offices, industrial sites and retail parks of varying sizes, undertaking inspections and ensuring that health and safety guidance is met and that clients are compliant with ever-changing legislation.
“Her addition to the team is a very welcome one, and we look forward to continuing to improve and enhance the service we provide to our nationwide spread of clients and occupiers.
Stanton said: “I was attracted to Harris Lamb as it was an opportunity to be part of a growing property management organisation. Knowing an employee of the business, I found out that there is a good team working mentality: exactly what I was looking for.
“I’m also excited to be able to bring my facilities management experience to the organisation and to have the chance to help develop in-house systems and l enhance the business.”
