Property firm to launch “game-changing” franchise business

An East Midlands property firm is launching a new arm that it says will provide the opportunity for property managers to strike out on their own.

The SDL Group is set to launch the industry’s first property management franchise, SDL Property Partners. The company says the scheme will enable property managers to start their own business with the resources, expertise and support of a leading brand. The scheme is also suitable for existing property management business owners looking for extra business support, or letting agents looking to diversify.

To head-up this new franchise scheme, SDL Group has appointed Nick Faulkner as managing director of SDL Property Partners. Faulkner has built up several businesses specialising in residential block and estate management including Alexander Faulkner Partnership which was acquired by SDL Group earlier this year.

“In the current climate, there is not enough support for entrepreneurship within the property industry. The creation of new businesses is key to the sector’s growth and prosperity,” said Faulkner.

He added: “The prospect of starting out on your own is an expensive and daunting proposition; infrastructure and compliance requirements can be overwhelming. SDL Property Partners has been designed to address those concerns.”

Franchisees are offered a seven day intensive training course, Qube licence, company set up and VAT registration with ongoing advice and support directly from experienced professionals within the SDL Group. They can also access a full range of marketing materials and support.

“The concept has already captured the attention of a number of individuals and businesses in the property management and letting agent sectors,” said Faulkner.

He added: “SDL Property Partners will be a game-changer in the industry and we are delighted to be in the position to create this opportunity for the next generation of property managers.”
