Logged-off: Peter Cusick, Roythornes

Peter Cusick

How does Roythornes’ partner and head of food relax at the weekend? We found out…

How do you relax at the weekend?
I am still (just about – at 52) a competitive runner so I try to fit in a couple of runs over the weekend. Unfortunately my ultra-running and long distance triathlon days are now behind me but I still harbor dreams of getting back to 35mins for 10k.

Weekends always seem to be busy but we do make time for simple things like walking our dogs and the Saturday morning cryptic crossword.

How many hours do you work at the weekend on average?
I try not to work any as I feel it’s important to take a time out from work. That being said, I often find myself thinking about my cases!

What’s your favourite…
– Holiday destination?
My wife is particularly fond of the Greek islands so we have been to quite a few of them, most recently Santorini which, happily, lived up to its reputation.

– Book?
My 60 Memorable Games by Bobby Fischer. I play chess competitively to a reasonable level across the region and this is a classic.

– Album?
Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd.

– Food?
I like lots of different cuisines. If I had to pick a favorite I would say Vietnamese food.

– TV programme?
Long Lost Family – it gets me every time!

– Website or app?
I like to keep an eye on what is going on in the world through BBC News and BBC Sport.

How do you usually spend Sunday evenings?
Either relaxing in front of the television or competing in a pub quiz team with my wife and daughters.
