On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Jenny Colver

Leicestershire employment law firm Cummins Solicitors has welcomed Jenny Colver as its new senior associate.

Her arrival makes the Cummins team 11-strong. She joins Cummins from Gateley, where she was an associate after training with the firm from 2008.

Mike Cummins, who launched Cummins Solicitors as a specialist employment law firm in 2011, said: “I’ve known Jenny for a long time, since I was at Gateley, and she is a first class lawyer.

“We’ve secured some significant new clients in recent months and being able to strengthen our team with a solicitor of Jenny’s calibre and experience is a boost for us and for the quality and quantity of work we can deliver.”

Colver said: “I am delighted to have joined the fantastic team here at Cummins Solicitors and really look forward to working with all their great clients.”

Tracey Warren

Lincolnshire-based housing firm LACE Housing has kicked off 2018 with two promotions to managerial positions.

Agne Vaivadiene is now support team leader at Olsen Court in Lincoln, while Tracey Warren oversees Brick Kiln Place in Grantham and Worth Court in Bourne as support team leader for both sites.

Before being promoted, both were working as support co-ordinators at the housing with extra care schemes, which are designed for older people who have high support and personal care needs but still value living independently.

Vaivadiene said: “I spent eight years working as part of a close-knit team at Olsen Court, after a year of working on the bank team at the former care homes, so found it quite daunting when I first became a Support Co-ordinator as it comes with more responsibility.

“It was especially challenging as I had taken some time out to have my children, but I soon found my confidence and threw myself into the role. I enjoy progressing as much as possible in life, so when the opportunity arose to become Support Team Leader I couldn’t pass it up.”
Meanwhile, Warren said: “I started as a support assistant and quickly progressed to support co-ordinator.

“I love the fact that no matter your position in the organisation, you are always treated equally. I often sit and think to myself, there’s no place I’d rather be,” she said.

Warren said: “I always assisted the manager and made sure I learned most aspects of her job. Even while I was support co-ordinator, I stepped up on numerous occasions to ensure I was familiar with the role.

“I want to keep the schemes running to the same high standard and work closely with the support team to ensure we continue to deliver an outstanding service,” said Tracey.

LACE Housing’s chief executive Nick Chambers said: “Both Agne and Tracey are ambitious and feel passionately about our organisation, so they were a perfect fit for the managerial vacancies.

“They are already thriving in their latest roles and I have every confidence that they will continue to support our residents in any way they can. I wish them all the best for their continued development.”
