120 jobs to be created as Leicestershire business park gets go-ahead

How Vulcan Park will look

Over 120 jobs are set to be created in Leicestershire after a new business park in Coalville was given the green light.

Vulcan Park is being created by Leicestershire County Council to support start-ups and firms looking to expand.

The £5.5m venture – part-funded by the Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership (LLEP) – will offer a range of high-spec industrial units to let with unit sizes from 1,000 sq ft

The council says that more than 15 companies are already interested in renting space at the site – set to open next summer – which was given the thumbs up at the council’s development control board late last week.

Supporting businesses boosts our economy, and creates jobs. The units at Vulcan Park will offer new companies space to set up shop, and supports growing firms in need of bigger premises.

It’s great news that businesses are already interested in renting space and I look forward to construction progressing.

Nick Pulley, LLEP chair, said: “The construction of these new high-spec industrial units is essential to support business growth.

“The Leicester and Leicestershire Partnership is pleased to support this and other projects that deliver on the aims of our Strategic Economic Plan and fit with local priorities. Vulcan Park is one of 20 projects that the LLEP has supported across Leicester and Leicestershire through our Local Growth Fund.”
